Our Story

It all began with an obsession with flowers, an idea, and a family (plus friends who are family) to help pull it all off…

how it started

Each plant we grow on Reiner Hill has our love poured into them.

We started ‘Reiner Hill Flowers’ in 2018 because of our desire to have fresh cut flowers that were affordable for all. So many times, my husband wanted to send me flowers at work or at home as just a nice surprise,  but there was no way I was going to let him spend a crazy amount of money to do that. I want the same for others, just to send a flower arrangement for a just because, a birthday, or whatever happiness they wished to express through flowers. We knew we could provide that by growing our own flowers, arranging, and delivering them as well. So we got to work. Through all of our blood, sweat, and tears, we are here now, three years later with our very own family-owned and operated business for flowers and arrangements.

I was born in Ohio but was only there for a month after I was born. I have lived in Texas, Colorado, Washington State, Germany, New York State, Virginia, Georgia, and, of course, West Virginia.

My favorite things…my amazing kids and family, live music, sitting outside on summer or fall evenings, love all things vintage, good friends, and great conversations with amazing humans. Also, my incredible husband who does an amazing job dealing with me.

If I were a flower…I would be a daffodil. They're the first spring flower after a cold winter. They make people smile with delight when they emerge after so much cold weather, and they feel like sunshine in spring

ROCKY

I was born and raised in WV, with a brief time in Arizona years ago. This is my family's original property that's been in the family for over a hundred plus years.

My favorite thing about hillside is that it is my home place, it's secluded and we live next to my family.

If I were a flower…I would be a Zinnia. They're very colorful. Take a little bit to get to the party, low maintenance, and make the hillside look wonderful.

My favorite things to do…Hang out by the fire and picnic under the Pavilion. Going fishing my with my family and listening to live music. Also, swinging my lovely wife around a dance floor.

AMY

I am originally from Ohio but have lived in North Carolina, Tennessee and have been in WV for the last 19 years.

My favorite thing about the farm is watching all the new life bloom and exploring new flowers.

If I were a flower…I would be a peonie because they take a long time to mature and they are sought after and are vibrant.

My favorite things to do…being outside, listening to music and hanging out with my friends.

My favorite thing about the farm is sitting outside and watching the birds dive into the bird bath in the courtyard.

If I were a flower…I'd choose to be a bluebell because their graceful, vibrant blooms bring a touch of enchantment to any garden.

My favorite things to do…doing outdoor activities, hanging with my friends, swimming, and binge-watching netflix shows!

My favorite thing about the farm is that there is always something to do and experience. There is plenty of space to relax, enjoy and be yourself. Not to mention great people, too.

If I were a flower…I would be an Iris. Spring is my favorite season and I get better every year.

My favorite things to do…spending time with family, sharing great food and lots of laughter. I love a great conversation, and a good glass of wine.
